Description

Cascadian Teacher is a premium variety refined by Full Canopy Genetics in Denver, Colorado (USA). It is classified as one of their award-winning, “easy to grow” strains, specifically optimized for sealed environments. It produces tall, elegant mushrooms with large convex caps in a golden-amber color, featuring a distinctive cinnamon-colored central halo, along with thick, sturdy stems and highly tolerant rhizomorphic mycelium. It stands out for its rapid colonization, uniform and predictable canopies, and large fruiting bodies, making it the most reliable and repeatable option for both beginners and experienced growers seeking consistent results without complications.

Estimated yield

MycoBag (1200 g / 2000 ml): 400–600 g of fresh mushrooms (~10% dry weight)
MiniMycoBag (400 g / 700 ml): 150–200 g of fresh mushrooms (~10% dry weight)

Plug & Play system

MycoBag Plug & Play represents a revolution compared to traditional methods such as tubs or monotubs. It completely eliminates manual sterilization, syringe inoculation, substrate mixing, frequent misting, controlled ventilation, and constant openings that increase the risk of contamination. This is an all-in-one, pre-colonized kit, laboratory-sterilized and hermetically sealed with a microporous filter that optimally regulates oxygen and CO₂ levels. Simply place the bag in a suitable environment (~23 °C, no direct light) and the entire cycle—colonization and fruiting—will develop autonomously, without opening, watering, or handling the bag until harvest. The result: fewer errors, faster cycles, and consistent, high-quality harvests.

Approximate timelines

First visible pins: a few days after proper placement (generally 10–20 days).
First flush harvest: 25–35 total days from bag placement.

Ideal time to harvest

Harvest immediately after the veil breaks (when the partial veil detaches from the cap and leaves a visible ring on the stem). This is when mushrooms reach their maximum size, best appearance, and optimal texture, before the massive release of spores begins.

Regardless of the time elapsed—since the 25–35 days are only indicative and may vary slightly depending on environmental conditions, specific genetics, and the individual response of each bag—always prioritize visual observation over the calendar.

Full Canopy Genetics

Full Canopy Genetics is a mycological research laboratory based in Denver, Colorado (USA), specializing in the isolation, testing, and stabilization of premium genetics under low-oxygen and high-CO₂ conditions—exactly the same conditions found in sealed grow bags. Their rigorous scientific approach has earned them multiple first-place awards in prestigious competitions such as The Cultivar Cup and the Colorado Psychedelic Cup, standing out for exceptional fruiting body size, uniformity, and consistent yields. MycoBag is the exclusive distributor of these award-winning genetics in Europe, ensuring direct access to strains optimized specifically for the Plug & Play system.

Useful tips

  • Place the bag in a location without direct sunlight (dim indirect light is ideal; avoid direct heat sources such as radiators or heaters).
  • Maintain a stable ambient temperature around 23 °C (avoid sudden changes or prolonged heat exposure).
  • Do not open, water, or handle the bag at any time before harvest.
  • Observe development visually without moving or shaking the bag.
  • Harvest right after veil break for the best presentation and storage quality.

How to grow MycoBag:

Product FAQs

Our exclusive Plug and Play system completely eliminates the complexity of traditional cultivation. You do not need to inoculate with syringes, mist the substrate, or control ventilation. The bag arrives fully colonized and hermetically sealed. Simply place it in a room with indirect light at approximately 23°C, and the mushrooms will grow autonomously until harvest.

We use medical-grade sterilization to protect your culture. Each bag is sterilized in commercial electric steam autoclaves for 2.5 hours. Once sealed, our specialized 0.5 and 0.2-micron filters maintain the ideal oxygen balance while completely blocking airborne contaminants, reducing the margin of error to zero.

All our varieties are elite strains developed and stabilized exclusively by the Full Canopy Genetics laboratory in Colorado. They undergo a rigorous evolutionary training process under oxygen restriction. This scientific approach guarantees aggressive rhizomorphic colonization, massive fruiting bodies, and highly stable alkaloid profiles across all our bags.

Yes! Regardless of the variety you choose, both the MiniMycoBag (700ml) and the standard MycoBag (2000ml) contain an exclusive substrate blend meticulously crafted for optimal nutrition. The high water reserve in the substrate easily supports a second productive flush after you harvest the first wave of mushrooms.
